City sidewalks, busy sidewalks.
Dressed in holiday style
In the air
There's a feeling
of Christmas
Children laughing
People passing
Meeting smile after smile
and on every street corner you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day
Dressed in holiday style
In the air
There's a feeling
of Christmas
Children laughing
People passing
Meeting smile after smile
and on every street corner you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day
This is my husband’s favorite carol. I think it’s because of the happy
melody. My husband is a happy man, very
content, and enjoys every day of life. He rarely complains, but rather
enjoys. I try to glean from him.
I hear many talk of the busyness of
Christmas and the added stress this brings, but I think all of the “holiday
style,” the “feeling of Christmas,” “children laughing,” “people passing,” and
“meeting smiles after smile” on street corners far outweighs any heavy loads we
pick up and carry.
I want to hear the silver bells ring out on
Christmas and really hear them sing above the din, above the wrappings, and
above the gift-giving – bells that ring out what a beautiful day it is to
rejoice!
