Blessed

James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Remember a few days ago we read to “count it all joy” when we’re in the middle of trials and hardships?  Now, we read that if we do remain joyful, if we do press on, we are then blessed!

One definition of persevere is to “continue the course.”  Oftentimes, when hardships or trials come, we are tempted to walk away from God and make a decision to doubt his love and goodness, and to think in our hearts that we must not be good enough to be blessed.  Both of these are two of the biggest lies that send us veering off into a ditch of despair.

God is good, all the time.  His love endures forever.  God is love.

Stand firm in your faith, even under fire.  Ask God for wisdom.  Praise him for the awesome Father that he is.

Finally, stand still and receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised you.
