From the Pit

Lamentations 3 says, I called on your name, Lordfrom the depths of the pit.You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.” You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.”

How many times have you felt like you’ve fallen into a pit and can’t climb out?  It sometimes happens daily, doesn’t it?

However, there is no place too deep, too distant, or too dark where he cannot hear our call for help.  God never closes his ears to our cries, when we call out to him.  He doesn’t turn a deaf ear.

No matter how far we’ve fallen, how deep we’ve sunken, or how far we’ve strayed, there is no place we can go where  God cannot find us and rescue us.

And when he hears our call, he comes near, and says, “Do not fear.”

Often when we’ve fallen once, we fear falling again.

Call out to him and listen for his voice.  It won’t be the one telling you how sorry you are for falling.

It will be one the whispering in your ear to trust him, while he lifts you towards the light.
