I Peter 2: But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of
him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
More names that God calls us – chosen, royal,
holy, special, his possession…
WOW.
When we hear other names in our mind like
“worthless, failure, slacker, etc.” this is not God’s voice.
This is huge for many of us, if we can realize
this one truth.
Once Jesus calls us to himself and we believe,
all of those derogatory names we’ve heard in our minds or heard others call us
no longer define us. That is NOT who we
are.
Listen to all of the wonderful descriptions God
has for you.
And then declare his praises. Lift up his name. Thank him aloud. Shout for joy.
You are no longer in darkness, beaten down, and
destroyed.
You are in his wonderful light where he sees you
pure and holy, because of his Son!
