Believing

Romans says (as it is written, “A father of many nations have I made you”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist. In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”

This verse is referring to Abraham.  Remember, God promised his descendants to be as numerous as the stars in the sky, and then Abraham didn’t have any children for decades.

He was too old, by most standards, to have the promise fulfilled through his body.

However, we serve a God who does these two amazing things:

Gives life to the dead
Calls into being that which does not exist.

Nothing is impossible with our God

Abraham believed God (and this was counted unto him as righteousness) and he stayed in His presence, and he hoped (even though he did mess up – God was faithful) against hope, and the promise was fulfilled.

Believe in God and all of his amazement and for all that seems impossible.
