Rejoice

I Corinthians 13:6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

This is a verse out of the “love chapter” of the bible – which is full of definitions of what love is.  It starts with what love does NOT do, and then says was love DOES do.

Delighting in evil seems like something only bad people do – those who want to destroy others and are evil themselves.  However, when we choose to believe the lies from the evil one, we’re heading in that direction…towards delighting in evil.

But, wait!  There’s hope.  When we receive God’s love for us we begin to rejoice in the truth.  We begin to see how much he cares for us and how much he loves us, and it makes us want to jump up and down with joy.

In what are you taking delight?  The whispers in your ear that depress you and send you reeling…or…the God of the universe exclaiming over you, “I love you!”

Rejoice in the truth.
