Here We Come

Here we come a-wassailing among the leaves so green;
Here we come a-wandering, so fair to be seen.
Love and joy come to you, and to you our wassail, too.
And God bless you and send you a Happy New Year
And God bless you and send you a Happy New Year

Wassailing just means going house to house singing Christmas carols, and it can mean drinking and toasting friends as well!  I love some warm wassail on a cold night!

Again, this carol is bringing love and joy to those who hear it's melody.  There's a blessing in this song to send those who hear for a "happy" new year.

One of my favorite verses in the bible is Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

So, when we sing carols of love and joy and hope, we are actually agreeing with God's word. His plans for us are to prosper us, not harm us.

God sent his Son to bring restoration to a dying world, restoration of life, restoration of healing, restoration of hope.

I can't promise that God will answer all your prayers like you demand him to, but I can sing of hope in the promise that whatever comes your way, if you follow after God with all your heart, you can rest in the fact that your future includes prosperity and hope, not harm and destruction.

Your future is secure, and it's good, because God says it is.
