A Peg

Ezra 9:8 But now for a brief moment grace has been shown from the Lord our God, to leave us an escaped remnant and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our bondage.

I love this verse – I don’t ever remember reading it before!

“a peg in his holy place” – a great title for a book don’t you think???

Remember those little wooden games on the tables at Cracker Barrel – where you jump pegs and see if you can remove all of them from the board?  It’s hard! And then if you leave 3, 4, 5 or more – there are comments on the game telling you you’re awesome, not so great, or downright a failure!

There’s none of that with God.

We are a peg in his holy place – we have a spot – we cannot be jumped and removed – we are never alone - he is always with us!

That’s enough to end the game with a “Well done!” isn’t it?

Need a little reviving?  Just smile at the thought of yourself as a peg in his presence.
