The Sentence

I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

When a guilty person stands before a judge and confesses his crime he gets a sentence, from possibly a few years to life in prison, and a hefty amount of bail is set.

When a guilty person stands before God and confesses, he gets forgiveness, and his guilt is removed, and he is set free to walk without shame or fear.

God is a righteous God, but when we fall before him in humility and ask forgiveness for wrong attitudes or actions, he is faithful to forgive.  Even if we stumble and fall again…and again.

He’s wipes our slate clean.  Guilt is erased.  It’s as if we never sinned.

Pretty amazing…this faithful God we serve.
