Luke 2: 10, 11
And the angel said to them, “Fear
not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for
all the people. For unto
you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who
is Christ the Lord.
The whole message of the gospel is told here by the angel, in this one
passage, and it’s the message we all need to hear, and share, at Christmas.
Don’t be afraid. There is no
fear in following Christ, because he brings us peace. After all, he is the
Prince of Peace.
It’s good news! Jesus – our Savior – is here – to save us from certain
death and offer us life with him!
Great joy awaits you. Not only
is fear not in the equation of a life with Him, but in place of it he brings joy
– unspeakable joy – joy to the world.
No one is left out. Perhaps this
is the greatest message some of us need to hear this season. Others may ignore
us, treat us wrongly, or even abandon us, but this Jesus – the Savior, Christ
the Lord – is available for ALL.
If we feel we are unworthy, he invites us to come.
Read again the words from the angel and take them to heart. Be at peace
and leap for joy.
