Resounding Joy

Psalm 98: 7,8 Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy;

Have you heard the sea “resound?” Have you listened to the ocean in a seashell?  Have you sat and listened to the waves lap against the shore?  That’s the sea singing for joy.

Have you sat by a river and heard it rush by over rocks, as it flows toward its destination? Or have you floated down a river as it moves you along without any effort of your own?  That’s the river clapping its hands for joy.

Have you observed the mountains and their beauty as the sun sets behind them, or as they change colors with the sunrise?  That’s the mountains singing for joy, as they respond to the sun.

We can observe all of nature and see God’s glory and splendor and join in the joyous celebration, or we can stay inside and look at our four walls and feel closed in and sad.

It’s our choice.
