Personification

November 19, 2012 Don’t you love personification? Kids love it in cartoons because inanimate objects come to life! God’s word is not a cartoon, but it does come to life on the “big screen” when we take the time to sit, read, and listen. Isaiah 55 says God’s word goes out of his mouth and will always accomplish the purpose for which he sent it. And in the very next verse, he spits out some incredible personified words: As we go in joy and peace in knowing His words he’s spoken over us are true, valid, real, and going to happen – the mountains and hills start singing – and trees start clapping! Can you see this incredible show in your mind? You, the child, reside in this great big house on a hill with huge mountains and trees all around. Your father speaks over you as you begin your day, and you step out the door and see all of creation rejoicing with you over the good words you’ve just heard! What does He speak? Things like provision, hope, healing, and restoration to name a few. If that’s not the moving picture you’re seeing, you need to step back inside and sit on His knee a while longer…
