Isaiah 64:8
But now, O Lord, You
are our Father, We are the
clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.
It’s a daunting job, that of a potter. The clay has to be worked, molded and set so
that the vessel is useful and not cracked.
For a potter to set a vessel on display that has a crack, this will
reflect back on his own work and lack of skill and care.
Our father is carefully molding us and shaping us and setting
us to be useful in this world, for Him.
He wants us to be able to hold water and pour water, without breaking
under pressure.
He is the potter.
We
are the clay.
And we can trust his
skillful, loving, faithful hands to present us flawless when His work is
completed in us.
