Matthew 6:4 … so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
Auctions are full of people raising their hands to be seen
and heard as the highest bidder.
Fundraisers post the names of those who give and the amounts,
so they can be praised.
Even churches sometimes exalt the giver…instead of the Giver.
I once heard that the highest form of giving is giving to
someone in secret, without them knowing who you are. I don’t know if that’s true, but I do know
that true giving doesn’t seek to be seen.
God is a rewarder of those who give and those who serve and
those who love. And we don’t have to be
concerned if we are not seen, noticed, or applauded for what we give.
Just give.
In secret.
Your Father sees.
He will reward you.
