Mark 11:25
Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything
against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you
your transgressions.
This is a daunting command issued to us by Jesus.
When we pray, if we’re offended or hurt at anyone, we must
forgive them.
How can we do this? We
can place them – and ourselves – at the foot of the same cross – the one where
Jesus died for us both. That puts us on
level ground.
We may not feel any different after choosing to forgive, but
God sees our heart.
If we want forgiveness, which we all need, then we must be
willing to forgive.
That’s how it works.
