Genesis 22:13
Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his
horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt
offering in the place of his son.
Remember this story?
God asked Abraham to offer his promised son on the altar, and though I’m
sure Abraham was aghast at God’s request and distraught, he obeyed.
But notice, he then “raised” his eyes. Instead of looking down with a “woe is me”
attitude, he raised his eyes and there in the distance was the answer, the
provision, the miracle.
There was a ram that God provided to offer in place of Abraham's son.
Sometimes, when we are looking down at the circumstances in
which we find ourselves, all we see is death and despair.
Sometimes, when we choose to raise our eyes to look up, there
might be something God is providing as a way out, a provision from his hand, a
rescue.
Look up.
Receive.
Be blessed.
