Psalm
146 The Lord sets the prisoners
free.
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind;
The Lord raises up those who are bowed down;
The Lord loves the righteous;
The Lord protects the strangers;
He supports the fatherless and the widow,
But He thwarts the way of the wicked.
The Lord raises up those who are bowed down;
The Lord loves the righteous;
The Lord protects the strangers;
He supports the fatherless and the widow,
But He thwarts the way of the wicked.
We can join clubs, organizations and give to worldwide missions –
which are all good and necessary things to do – to see people rescued and set
free.
However, it’s the LORD who does the final work of freedom, vision,
lifting, loving, protecting, supporting and protecting.
Our efforts and our giving must be joined up with faith and prayer
to the Lord to swoop in and love those we are praying for, because without the
love of the Father those we rescue and help will slip back into bondage once
we’re gone or through.
No one loves the unlovely more than He does. Prayer AND works are a great combo, and we
can’t do the works completely without
the prayer.
The Lord.
