Psalm 147:1
How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
Look at the three adjectives in this sentence:
good, pleasant, and fitting.
It’s good to sing our praises to God because he
is good, and his mercy endures forever.
You want to do something good today? Sing praises to him.
It’s pleasant when the Lord hears our praises
that we sing to him. It’s a sweet aroma. He takes delight when we praise him, and he
responds back in singing over us. You want to do something pleasant today? Sing praises to him.
It is fitting to praise our Father in heaven,
because he is worthy of all of our praise.
He deserves the highest praise, because he is King of Kings and Lord of
Lords. There is no other name to be
praised. You want to do something
fitting today? Sing praises to him.
There are many days that end, and we wonder if we’ve
accomplished any good thing at all.
But we can be sure that it's been a good and pleasant day if we praise our God!
