See To It

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.
Today is my son-in-law’s 28th birthday!  He’s an amazing man who was raised without a father in the home, and he learned as a young man to lean into God as his father, even praying and asking God to teach him how to shave. That story brought a tear to my eye, when I heard it.
This young man has grown and seen the faithfulness of his heavenly father and has continued to believe and serve with abandon.   He hasn’t been taken captive by worldly philosophies which are contrary to the truth of the Word.
Worldly wisdom is hollow and deceptive, because it is rooted in “human tradition.”
But we who are rooted in Christ cannot be moved, swayed, or taken by captive by anything or anyone else except the love of Christ which we feel, we know, and we see present in our lives every day.

See to it that you are grounded and established in Him, and that those you love and serve receive that same instruction and grounding that grounds you.
