Psalm 107 cont’d:
Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.
We’ve been writing for days now about God’s
incredible rescues and his power to find us and deliver us from the darkest of
places, the most remote dungeons, and the heaviest of chains.
Here we are told to sacrifice “thank offerings”
and to “tell of his works” with “songs of joy.”
Three responses to the One who delivers.
Today is Thanksgiving Day.
I encourage you to give thanks for God’s goodness
in your lives today.
I encourage you to tell someone of what He’s done
for you, even if it’s just the family member sitting next to you at the table.
I encourage you to sing a song of joy – with your
own made-up words – or with words and lyrics from a song you’ve heard and love.
And once this day is over, your stomach is full, and
you’re snuggled in for the night, make it your plan to respond to him in these
three ways every day. Begin to look for
the good and expect it, as you cry out to your Savior to rescue you and set you
in a good place.
If today doesn’t go so well, because of family
problems, lift up a prayer to God to rescue those you love, and give Him thanks
for the answer.
Happy Thanksgiving!
