Hebrews 12
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be
shaken, let us be thankful,
and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
Here’s another verse where being thankful is a response, it’s
a reaction to something else.
And here
it’s the reaction to the realization that we serve a big God, the King of
Kings, whose kingdom is unshakable.
That’s huge!
If we really believe
that the kingdom of God, the place where we live safely and protected, cannot
be shaken – we cannot be moved – we are in his hands – we will be thankful!
In fact, worship will ensue once we realize this awesome fact
about our place with him. And our worship will be acceptable to him because it
stems from a thankful heart.
I believe any time thankfulness precedes worship, it’s
pleasing to Him.
Reverence and awe are two components of worship that often
come with a quiet spirit and reflection on who God is, his bigness and his
attentiveness to the smallest details of our lives.
Spend some time responding to the King in worship…and be
thankful
