Seasoned?

Colossians 4:
Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.  Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
I’ve eaten meals that are not seasoned at all, and it doesn’t matter how fresh the ingredients or how pretty they are on the plate – if the seasonings are missing – the meal is awful!
Salt brings out the sweetness and flavor in food.  Too much and we spit out what goes in mouths.  Too little and we make a face of disapproval.  But when seasoned “just right,” we eat in large quantities until we are full.
When we talk about God incessantly, but act as though we don’t know him by our rudeness and apathy, that’s too much salt.  It turns people off.  We are dousing them with words instead of wrapping them with love.  And when we are with friends and never let our lights shine, that’s too little salt – and opportunities will be missed.
However, when we put faith into action with our words and our deeds, people want more.  They want to know what it is that makes us at peace, joyful, and loving towards them.
Is your conversation (lifestyle) seasoned well?
