Standing Firm

Philippians 1:27
Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

“worthy of”

Athletes are not worth of their medals if they are found misrepresenting their coach or team.  In fact, they’re stripped from their awards.

Other contest winners are not worthy of carrying an honor if dishonor is shown, and their crowns are taken away or their awards are revoked.

We too are called to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of Christ – and that is standing firm in ONE spirit with ONE mind.

Why?

For the faith of the gospel.

We do no one any good, we do not draw men to Him, and we only do harm, when we create disunity among each other.

It’s through kindness that others come to know Christ.  And that kindness starts among ourselves.

Let’s be worthy of being called his sons and daughters, and mimic him in love and deed.
