Isaiah 22:23 I will drive him like a peg in a firm place, And he will become a throne of glory to his father’s house.

I LOVE this verse!

Have you ever gone camping, set up your tent, driven the pegs into the ground, only to have them pop loose?  We have!  If the ground is really hard and dry, it’s almost impossible to get a peg in tight!

However, this verse says God will make us like a firm peg, set in place, immovable, in our father’s house. I love that word picture.

Nothing will be able to uproot us, when God drives us into place.  Think about the driving part – though.  That requires pressure, finding the right spot, and skill from the craftsman placing the peg.  Only God can do that. Any other peg-driver will bang us up, move us from place to place, and leave us to come loose at the first strong wind. And in the end, we will be broken and useless.

I want to be in a firm place, holding tight, a "throne of glory."
