Ephesians 5 says Therefore do not be foolish, but
understand what the Lord’s will is.
Throughout my own life I have prayed for the
Lord’s will, from seeking a job, to finding a house, to decisions about giving,
how to raise my kids, etc. I think most
of us who follow Him want to know his will so that our lives will be successful
and blessed.
However, many times in the Bible we are told what
God’s will is for our lives and here in this verse we are called to understand
it.
So, just what is it?
The answer follows in the same chapter…
…be filled
with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make
music from your heart to the Lord, always giving
thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I’m thinking
if we focus on understanding this part of his will, all of those other things
we’re seeking will fall into place as well.
In fact, the
bible says it will.
