Psalm 119:43 answers the question we asked
yesterday.
Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight. Your statutes
are always righteous; give me understanding that I may live.
We lack understanding when we enter trouble and
distress, and we forsake his commands.
In times of trouble, it should be God’s word that
brings us delight.
Maybe it’s because God’s words are always
“righteous” and that’s what trips us up. We try to stay out of trouble and distress
without allowing him to complete his righteous work in us.
If we understood this one concept, we could avoid
a heap of trouble.
In trouble and distress?
Turn to his commands and delight in them. Allow the holy God we serve to work out his
ways in your heart, and ask him for understanding and insight into delighting
in that work.
Troubles and distress are not pleasant, but we
can find delight in walking through them when we understand…
