“Our mouths were filled with laughter, our
tongues with songs of joy. The Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us, and we are
filled with joy.” (Psalm 126)
That’s a great verse. It lays out for us
one particular way to be filled with joy – talking about the great things God has
done for us. Don’t just remember them
or think about them when you’re dozing off to sleep at night, but “talk” about
them.
Who wants to hear about the great things
God has done for you? Another place in
the bible it says to tell them to your children, and to your children’s
children. Start there. Over the dinner table, share with your kids
what God did for you that day. At night
when you’re putting them to bed, tell your kids of an answered prayer. Write down and record the things God has done
for you and read them aloud from time to time, to your grandchildren.
I have a welcome mat that says nothing but
“JOY” and I see it when I come, and when I go.
Speaking of God’s faithfulness is like that welcome mat – invites joy
into your home to stay.
