Proverbs 20
Ears that hear and eyes that see—the Lord has made them both.
We just wrote about another
verse a couple of days ago reminding us that if God made our ears and eyes,
then of course he hears and sees us.
But here in Proverbs, we are
reminded again that God gave us ears to hear and eyes to see, and we need to
use them wisely.
We need to listen, stay awake,
be aware, of what God is doing and saying…and then obey him and follow. We need to keep our ears in tune to His
voice.
We need to see the needs of
others around us, see the path He lays out before us, and meet those needs,
walk those trails, because our eyes are open to His ways.
Whatever gifts God has given us –
and they are many – we are wise if we use them to follow in his footsteps wherever
He goes.
