Hosea 10:12
Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing
love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.
I’m planting flowers in my pots and yard today, and I really
love doing it. I have to clean out the old, break up the soil, be careful with
the roots, and plant according to instructions…if I want to find flowers
blooming, and not wilted and tilted plants, in a few weeks.
Seeking the Lord is sort of like preparing your herb boxes or
your gardens – there’s some preparation that has to take place so that the seed
can germinate and grow.
To do this, we must read his Word so that we know the truth
about who He is – not what others have told us.
We have to search our hearts at times to make sure there aren’t weeds of
unbelief growing that choke out the truth.
That’s called seeking Him…
And then when the showers come, things grow, flowers bloom,
and beauty takes place.
That’s the way it works – isn’t it beautiful?
