Psalm 125 says, Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but
endures forever.
Zion is mentioned 150 times in the Bible and
means “fortification.”
If we trust in the Lord (lay our troubles down
and leave them at his feet), we are like this mountain – completely fortified –
unshakable – and nothing can defeat us.
Trust, in Him, is what fortifies our stance.
When we wobble and doubt and begin to look
for other places, things, or people in which to place our trust – it’s like
opening a door to our wall of protection and inviting in trouble.
This is why it’s SO important to surround
ourselves with people who know and trust the Lord, because when we have a weak
moment or day – we can call on them to speak the truth about God’s faithfulness
– to help us stand up and shut that door so that we are fortified once again.
Mount Zion – sounds like a place where I want to
live.
