Restful Rejoicing

2 Chronicles 15:15 says All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.
There are times when we seek the Lord regularly and we finally have a breakthrough and a great time of rest.  He answers, we feel him near, we see his hand at work in our lives, and we sigh a huge breath of relief…It seems as though all is going well.
These are times that it is easy to rejoice, but sometimes we forget to do so, because we become so satisfied and full.  It’s sort of like eating a huge dinner, sitting back and feeling so full, and then falling asleep while everyone else thanks the host and helps clean up the mess.
The Lord is with us at all times, when we are satisfied, and when we are hungry.  We are just at different stages in life – sometimes we’re at the table eating and other times we’re in the field working – dreaming of eating.
But when we are satisfied and full, we have to remind ourselves where these blessings came from and to instruct our hearts to rejoice to the God who supplies all good things.
Feeling at rest right now?  Rejoice.
