Romans 12:1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s
mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true
and proper worship.
This verse seems to indicate that being holy is part of OUR
will, our choice, our presentation. In
order to be holy, we have to offer ourselves to Him to allow his holiness to take
place. A living sacrifice.
God didn’t pick up Abraham’s son and throw him on the altar,
but he asked Abraham to do it. And in
obedience, he offered “true and proper worship” and God spared his son.
God requires our offering.
Our giving. Our willing hearts.
And when we give freely to him, offering our lives
completely, this is holy and pleasing and true and proper.
It’s hard to do this when we don’t trust Him, we don’t
believe He is good, and we don’t know Him as our Father.
Just ask him, and he will come and he will hold you, and he
will reveal his love to you so that you can offer yourself completely to him.
