Love these verses from Psalm 33:
A horse is a
vain hope for deliverance; despite
all its great strength it cannot save. But the eyes of the Lord are on
those who fear him, on
those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and
keep them alive in famine.
I love the freedom and safety that kids feel when
they are playing in a park, climbing on slides, running around trees, and
squealing with delight…all because they know their parent is sitting on a
bench nearby to protect them, watch
them, and be available for a hug should they fall and skin their knee.
God too is sitting near us, his eyes on every
move we make, because he loves us fiercely.
He wants us to be able to enjoy the playground of life he’s set before
us, knowing that we are covered.
Should any
intruders show up, a storm arise, or we fall and hurt ourselves, he’s right
there – just a call away – to scoop us up in his arms, comfort us, restore us
to health, and send us back out to play.
No one else saves, delivers, and strengthens us
except the one who loves us completely and perfectly – Jesus.
His eyes are on you, today.
