Streaming

Micah 4:1
In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.

I’m not sure exactly when or what or how this will occur, but again I love the imagery the Word brings.

There’s this mountain – the Lord’s temple – I imagine it to be a house of praise and healing and hope.

It will be high upon a mountain, almost touching the sky.

And people will be coming in droves up a well lit, well marked pathway, toward the sounds, toward the light, toward the temple.

Because the name of the Lord will be lifted high, and this place will be a safe place, where all are welcomed.

I love that hope.

Do you?

Peace for Us

Isaiah 26;12
Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.

There is nothing we do out of our own strength or wisdom, because everything good comes from above, our source, our Savior.

When we acknowledge that He is the reason for anything good in our lives, and we give him praise for it, we can then live in peace and know that it is He who has established us.

And sometimes, being established has nothing to do with circumstances.  Even the rich and famous feel lost and shaky, among their money and their homes and their followers.

Being established means living at peace…without fear, worry, or frenzy.

And that is priceless.
And that is eternal.

And that is a gift from Him.

He Will

Proverbs 16:3
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Before this verse we are told to trust in the Lord with all our hearts.

When we do this, we can then commit to him whatever we do.  Our jobs, our marriages, our children, our homes, all that defines us – we give to him – trusting Him to care for it all.

It’s then that we can know that whatever happens in this life – even loss or destruction – the Lord is establishing us for something good.

Yes, there is great loss in this world, and that’s why we yearn for another.  And that’s why we need a Savior.  And that’s why we commit it all to Him, KNOWING he is over all and in all and will bring us through it all.

Trust him.
Commit to Him.
Be established.

No Way

Proverbs 12:3

No one can be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted.

The Proverbs cut to the chase, don’t they? I love it.

No matter how much wickedness seems to be winning, or flaring up around us, it has no root and no foundation and will fall…

However, those who love the Lord and seek him first have roots that go deep, and the winds and storms cannot uproot them.  They may bend, but they won’t blow loose, because their roots run deep.

Do you want to be established in your home, with your children, and for your future?  Run from wickedness, and lean in toward righteousness.

It just takes surrendering to the God above who loves you fiercely and forever.

Forever

Psalm 119:152

Long ago I learned from your statutes that you established them to last forever.

Yes, it’s true.  God’s word will last forever.

The words married couples say to each other fall apart in divorce.

The language we speak changes, depending on where we are and who we’re talking with.

Laws are always coming and going, and people are keeping them and breaking them.

However, God’s word and promises and declarations never change.  He is always with us and will never leave us.

He is love.  He is good.  He is for us.

Isn’t it nice to have a firm foundation on this shaky planet we call earth?

He Is

Psalm 93:1

The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.

Can you see a picture here?

God is standing on top of the world, his robe is majesty (think of the clouds, the pinks and purples, the sunset, the oranges and reds, and the moonlit sky, the amazing lights) and his arms are strong and mighty (think arms that hold, lead, instruct and protect).

God  made the world and he is the overseer of it for all time.  It belongs to him.  It’s established, firm and secure until he says no more.

And even when that day comes, we who believe and love him will be secure with him forever…even on the day the mountains crumble and the seas roar…and earth as we know it is no more.

Even then.

Yes...

Psalm 90:17
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.

This is a great prayer to pray over you and your family.

Ask for God’s favor to rest upon each one of you.

Ask him to establish all that you do, to make it firm and unshakeable.

Seek him first, love him with all of your heart, and ask him…and receive.

It really is that simple.

Just believe.
