III John 5
Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish
for the brethren, and especially when they are strangers;
Do you ever wonder if you’re fulfilling your purpose here on
earth, what it is that you need to be doing to leave a legacy, to please HIM?
This verse says that we are acting faithfully when we do for
each other, and when we do for those we don’t yet know.
So if you’re praying for a friend, you’re acting faithfully.
So if you’re taking a meal to a neighbor, you’re acting
faithfully.
So if you’re visiting with a store clerk, you’re acting
faithfully.
God is a relational God, and as he is in relationship with
us, he calls us into relationship with others. It’s that simple.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
That’s the most faithful you can be.
