Overflow

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The cool thing about trust is that God knows we’re weak and we have trouble trusting Him when we start looking horizontally instead of vertically.  So all we have to do is come to Him, and ask Him for joy and peace as we trust in Him. He is the God of hope.

As we begin to trust in Him and hope in Him, it’s like this bucket of joy and peace is tipped over and starts to be poured out on our dry, limp leaves and we start to stand tall once again.

In fact, this verse says as we begin to trust in Him, we begin to “overflow” with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our limp leaves not only perk up and we stand tall, but we blossom and attract those who walk by to look at us and exclaim, “How beautiful!” 

When we see a beautiful flower or blooming shrub, we sometimes are amazed at the intricate beauty and wonder, and we realize how creative and amazing our Creator is.
